NOtifications on app not working

Has anyone else had the same problem?
The notifications on the Android Lichess app only work after you open the app.
For example, I open the app and see that two players have made moves in games. A few seconds later, i receive notifications of the same, which is pointless.

Works fine on my Android OS. Are you running any Battery Saving software, or memory cleaners that might be killing the app off?

I have an odd problem. The app refuses to open on my phone. The last update borked my lichess app. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, restart my phone, downloaded on my desktop and installed to my Samsung Galaxy s9 from there. I sent feedback from the app. All to no avail. I hope eventually it gets fixed because there is nothing else I can try to make it work again.
