Points deducted if internet is not accessible during the game

Hi,

I know this might be for security reasons, but what players do with bad internet? I was playing a game and suddenly my internet went off. By the time I restarted it, I lost the game and points were reduced. What players will do in such situations??

Thanks,
Dev
If your internet isn't capable of supporting online chess, then your best bet is prolly to play chess in real life.
@lovlas : Master that's very inconvenient option with time, place & player(opponent) constraints. Lichess should have some provisions for such issues.

@G-Davis : yeah but that's very slow timing based though. Mostly on weekends you wanna devote your max time in playing as many games as you can.

Anyways, thanks to both of you for replying...:)
That is what happens to me. It is very annoying.

@Dev_Angelo The system is supposed to work that way and it surely is not nice for people with a bad connection, but the game can be declared a draw or win by the other player if the opponent disconnects. It is this way because most disconnections are "ragequits" and connectivity issues that severe are quite rare.
You could join the Lichess4545 league: www.lichess4545.com/team4545/

Their rules forbid players from using the claim victory/claim draw buttons so you only need to worry about losing on time. You'll need an established classical rating.
@Dev_Angelo Unfortunately yes but leaving many more people open to abuse is overall worse this is why we have this compromise. I hope your connection will improve and you won't have to deal with this anymore.
