You mean with this when finding real friends online that you have to risk giving your true identity first. Or you will not find good friends.
You mentioned the price "face", you need this cuz how can you befriended with someone when they have never seen your face. Yes, is very interesting.
I would say exchange pictures or make video calls. And see them live.

You can buy a small car and take friends with you; you can afford a dinner for two at a nice restaurant; help someone out of finacial problems a bit. So it is not bad if you have money. But I don't want to have many friends all taking advantage because I have plenty of money. No, thank God I am no rich person regarding this matter. Also I'm lucky to be born in the 90s. I had a great childhood with great friends in a time where I had not much money. I still have the same people around me. My bestfriend's still there, I know her since we were in the third grade.
