What is deterrence for rage quit?

i tend to think that higher ratings mean less disconnects; more serious chess......... i have no data on which to base this.....

but... try to raise your rating.. also, i look at game completion rate? and i might avoid casual games or people who are totally new to the site (actually, i'm totally new..... i normally played on other sites.)
You have to live with it for 6 minutes. They have to live with such a lousy attitude for an entire life.
Seems like enough punishment.
How do you know he rage quit? A lot of times I sit there watching my opponent's timer count down only for them to get to 0 on the clock. I then find out that it was actually my timer that was counting down and I would have no way of knowing. I have a good connection.. I think.. but there are a lot of disconnections on this site.
Rage quits usually happen after someone loses a piece via a really bad move, or in the case of post #1, an unstoppable queening. It can be annoying, but the way to deal with it is to sit back, engage in some schadenfreude, and laugh, knowing that you bested your opponent and made them upset over a meaningless board game.
