I just finished a game against an opponent and once it was finished, i invited them to a rematch. They were taking too long to accept, so i clicked the "Find new opponent button". I was paired against someone else, who aborted the game.
Now, the first opponent had accepted my rematch while this was going on, so i was alerted to this. I went to the game, where my opponent (white) had made a move. I replied, but my opponent had already left. Therefore, (s)he was not aware that i had joined the game. Unfortunately, I was unable to abort the game, as we had both made a move. I was left waiting for the clock to run out, upon which i claimed a draw and no harm was done to either of our ratings, but i could have easily claimed a win and walked away with points which seems a bit wrong.
My suggestion: If no second move has been submitted by either player, then the game should be abortable. Either that, or if both players are disconnected from the game at the same time then it should be aborted (assuming no moves are made).
