Super-beginner tournament

I'm pretty new to chess and (rating < 1000) and would love to play a tournament with other beginners to get better. Is there such a thing? I am a little scared of joining tournaments with better players as people might be annoyed to be paired with a total newbie. It would be nice to have a friendly beginner tournament where players are encouraged to complete games and discuss them afterwards - would other people be interested in something like this if I set it up?
You can create one yourself. Just go to tournaments and create a new tournament. Then choose "show advanced settings" and set your maximum rating. But there probably won't be many players, so you can enter lichess's <1500 tournaments, but they may be a little hard for you. I can't participate, I just want to help if able :)
Cool, I didn't realise that you could set the rating cap for a tournament like that. Maybe I'll just go ahead and set one up and hope I am not playing alone - will post to this thread when I do and see if anyone wants to join
Depends on the time control, I'm improving really quickly the past few days in classical, and my rating jumped from 1485 to 1570 in three days. Unfortunately I'm 1100 in blitz and dont show any sign of improving lol. Well I could join if its a blitz tounament as I lose like every blitz game.

How about 15+10? I feel like most beginner games can reasonably fit in this time frame without too much pressure
I don't mind, but the thing is I'm 1200ish rapid, so I don't know if i fit in the 'beginner' category.
I set up a tournament for tomorrow - 10+10 casual for players under 1100 rating; join here if you are interested: lichess.org/tournament/BLp1m3Mg

If enough players join, maybe I'll set up a regular one. I waned to go with 15+10 but that would mean we have to allow 2 hours for the whole tournament, which might be a bit much for some people. So I went with 10+10 as it's all casual games and you can give more time if needed.
