Instead of making jokes with the virus you could maybe spend your time updating the mobile app... it needs interface bug fixes.

Well, I do not think it was supposed to be a joke to begin with, in an article Lichess openly critiqued the FIDE for deciding the event should take place. They enumerated many things wrong with it, even showing a picture of the opening ceremony with few thousands people lol. The name «Covidates» is actually a way to denounce FIDE's beahviorm rightfully I think.

I actually didnt find it funny nor do I atm. Candidates is candidates and covid is complete other thing. But being as rude is not nice and you should stay away from friendly place lichess or you could learn to ask polite questions....
It's actually a bit unnerving reading and being reminded about this pandemic every day as long as the message title is being shown when you only want to play a bit of chess to forget about this shitty situation. Kind of being a trigger word at the time.
I thought it was funny. And come on.. Trigger word? We really shouldn't be supporting the idea that we can be insulted so easily. It's cool and all that people want this place to be a place where everyone gets along, but the more we take offense to everything the more the offense taken becomes just as much of an attack as the people that are being rude, if not more so.

Sorry for any tragedy people have suffered, but I say we might as well laugh.
