My take on players "letting flag going down"

@savagechess2k

Since when is Lichess compelled to follow FIDE Rules? Lichess is independent of FIDE. Although it does follow most FIDE rules that doesn't mean it has to follow all of them.

So on Lichess letting your time run out in a losing position CAN be against the rules.
@savagechess2k

I know but the thread was about letting your time run out in online chess, and that's the big issue, no one will do that in real tournaments.
I will agree with you on it is annoying to play slow chess game that player loses his queen in very early part of game and let his clock run a full 90 minutes or whatever large amount in slow game. There are probably little kids that do this over and over just to upset people that is why I never play slow chess online. I am talking about fast chess, like three minutes and up. Players in over the board chess at tournaments take longer thinks than the whole game put together so it not bother me in faster chess of 3 minutes or less that players that let there clock run out. In slow chess it is much more understandable. The position that i was criticized in i did move immediately but the move not register, and i was appalled because I very well could have took a longer think because i had many good possibilities in my position. The server needs a better judgement of telling player in the first place, because i had many good moves for a good think but instead the lichess criticized me. My position was winning and server flagged me. The server criticizes way too liberally on here.

The part about your move not registering is because of some server errors that have been occuring lately, and the developers are working hard to solve them. A lot of other people have had the same problem.

I guess sometimes the warning is wrong, but after all it's just a warning, you can just ignore it, you need to get that warning several times in a row for it to even start having any effect (10 minute timeout is first)
That said, i had half minute with winning position and many moves possible in winning position the evaluation for such criticism needs to be changed. This can only upset players. The accusation should be removed for players in winning positions for thinking. If really have to criticize, they should have a judgebot that can judge the position to make more fair for the players for warning instead of warning players with winning positions.
@fearlessone

Your ideas are good, but as always it takes time and resources to implement anything. Currently developers are working on a lot of other projects so they won't be able to do this, but in the future they may :)
