This sneaky h-pawn or the show ain't over till the fat lady sings

Long game yesterday, 5 hours until after midnight. Reti opening went smoothly, position was close to winning until move 40. Nice manoeuvring with Bb2-c1-f4, thematical c4-c5 shutting out the Ba8.

Unfortunately I messed everything up trying to break through by force on the Queen's wing. I ended up losing, but often there's a final combeack when the weaker player thinks: now I got him!

I spotted intantly the 55. ... Qa7?? 56. h5! ist the sudden death. Lucky me.

I wanted to point out a true word of wisdom, experienced a hundred times on both sides. When the weaker player suddenly got the upper hand and tries to cash in...

„...often there's a final combeack when the weaker player thinks: now I got him“

So, be careful. A better position guarantees not always half a point, you can lose it all easily.
