Personal Statement of Elisabeth Pähtz

I became familiar with IM Paehtz through her game with Nigel Short at Bunratty last year and I have watched her channel before. I hope that she will be in the clear.

Honestly, seeing a parody of the statement makes me realize how far fetched the statement had to be to get out of that sticky situation
Is the video that @Sarg0n posted typical of comedy in Germany? I won't assume it was produced with ill intent but it seems a bit "borderline" in this day and age. It looks like comedy from the US about 40-50 years ago. And from Germany of all places?! 😕
The part where she's lying is "without my knowledge".

She hired an assistant to boost the amount of content on her channel. She knew there was someone else playing on her Lichess account and streaming on her Youtube channel (with no camera and no microphone), because that's exactly what she hired him to do. What she didn't count on was that this person would cheat. Apparently he's not as good at chess as she thought he was.

But the story gets even juicier.

There's people claiming that this mysterious assistant is a plastic surgeon in Berlin who is EP's personal friend, and also the same person who built her website. However, a plastic surgeon is an extremely well paid professional that must have a medical degree plus multiple specializations thereafter. Not the kind of person that would take a side job managing someone else's social media.

So I bet she's compensating him for his services somehow. Only not with money.
@IronIV #85 I have a hard time believing a plastic surgeon would also be both a web designer and a strong amateur chess player
To the German video: the main actor is a famous TV comedian who has no clue(?) about chess. Actually, a whole club was lampooned. It has nothing to do with Arabs or Iranians in particular, it is just a "master from abroad". Yeah, and young Lizzy was the knob in his ear so to say. It is an all-time-classic in Germany.
@Sarg0n Ahh.. I see. I only just realized it was a prank. Someone else messaged me and said it was done in a similar spirit as Sasha Cohen so I can appreciate that.
