One more time

Why do i talk about respect in my posts?
Simple, I give an example.

One of these days, I was playing against a player, ...good, good player, ...much stronger than me, ...he was winning,

I made two bad moves and his game took advantage.

Time was running out, he made a move,

I couldn't do anything, ... with one move he won, .... instead, he gave me 5 minutes of time more, ... but I couldn't do anything,. ..he was winning the game.

Okay, I could also have retired, in a bullet never say never, ...but that's not the point.

He deserved the win and yet he used a tool that I define stupid and disrespectful to "give me" more time, ... time that would be useless, because with one move (and he knew it) he would have won (rightly).

I tried to offer him a rematch with 5 minutes of free time to return the "favor" but he chose not to play.

This is not fairplay (not the rematch thing, of course)
And Lichess shouldn't allow players that kind of "freedom".

What do you think?
i think you should not get pissed over something so small
and declining someone's rematch offer after you just beat them gives next level staisfaction and pleasure
Just block and ignore all those jerks. That's what I do and I feel really good in doing so.
Respect is earned. And you earn nothing with whining.

I mean he literally didnt even tried to contact him at the first place i am sure his opponent wont even notice that lol
Have you ever had a situation when the losing opponent asks for rematch until he wins? It happens a lot.

In my three months of here, about three non-friends that won asked me for a rematch and nearly all were 100+ more rated than me. Hmm.

But there were many people who asked for it when I was the one winning. Lol.

Then I wanted to decline offers but decided to check my behavior with the forum, went on lurking at LiChess and some other site and viola, they attribute this demand generally to being a sour loser. (unless those threads that I've read were not generalizable- could happen: those who hate rematch offers from the losing party could have been the primary followers of those threads? Have no idea.)

This is only in terms of expectations, you see. From what I understand, it is seldom due to good etiquette that perfect strangers demand rematches?
They want to waste your time? Fine, waste theirs. Go make a coffee, wait 5 minutes and then make your move. Hopefully they will remember the lesson.
Not gonna lie, I think both of you are wrong.

Your opponent for obvious reasons, and yourself because your text makes me believe that someone was forcing you not to resign and carry on until your time runs out.
