Lol we aren't talking about a checkmate in 8. We are talking about the current problem checkmate in one. Unpractical and a waste of time is chasing the king around the board when you have a check mate in one which according to this post you said you prefer to do that. How much more time are you going to spend trying to checkmate after you take the queen when you can just use one move. I dont know if I could calculate a checkmate in 8 but if it is a checkmate then I would take that because it is a guaranteed win. the point of the game is to win by checkmate not gobble up pieces. I didn't say anything about using Laskers advice all the time. Strategies and tactics are very dynamic in chess and taking in all variables I will do what I think fits best to win in any given situation. If I have the time I will think twice if I don't i won't. Simple.. If I have a checkmate I will go for it because it is a win. Im here for a good time not a long time. It seems to me you are thinking very black and white. @LuckIsNoSkill I will agree though a devastating tactic can end the game quicker than a mate in 8 due to your opponent given up due to losing key pieces. But Im done with this.. everyone will do what they want haha... lastly is the queen free if it cost you your time?
