Pride month, really? Come on. NOBODY CARES.

Where is heterosexual chess month, oh thats right, nobody cares. Just like nobody cares about "Pride" month. There is nothing prideful about being gay. There is nothing prideful about being heterosexual. Let people be who they want and STFU. Lets just play chess and all get along. Your sorry excuse for a blog does nothing but cause more division. Lichess, you have been a big disappointment lately. What is happening to chess? So sad.
> So yeah, it's about pride of daring to express, not about pride of being who you are. I get it now

This is what Markus Persson en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markus_Persson the creator of Minecraft eventually realized after he also made calls for heterosexual pride month on Twitter.

It's so that marginalized communities can feel just as able to come out and be who they are - openly - as everyone else.

The chess community is wonderful about keeping its focus on chess and away from the personal lives of players, but I do feel as though we should be as welcoming to all folks as we can be regardless, especially understanding that chess players are just normal people who have to live their normal lives outside of chess.

And in the countries of many players, they cannot do that safely, so we should find ways to support them in all aspects of life.

Yeah, but you do not have to be so aggressive about it...
I thought chess hides mental illness. Be proud if you play chess good, who you fuck is not anyones problem and for many could be disgusting.
Looking at the reactions in both this and other threads, there's a horrible bunch of homophobes around. Big disappointment, so sad.
