Parental control [feature request]

I want to let my nephews play on the site, but don't want them potentially exposed to abusive behaviour/content. To that end, could we please have an option in settings - Parental control - when toggled on:
All game chat is disabled and cannot be re-enabled (so that toggle box in a game does not work)
Forum is blocked
Live streams are blocked (a lot of cursing in some of these...)
Basically means kids can only play chess, do training exercises.
To toggle parental control off again, I think simply having to enter your password to do this is enough security. (i.e. toggle on does not need a password, toggle off does)

I am sure many parents would like this (knowing they can leave their kids on lichess and they won't find questionable content).

Possible? Thanks for considering this!
usually chessplayers are very logical, thinking and planning creatures.

why would you think we have kids?

;) just kidding, this is a pretty good idea.
Great idea! :-)
But, I wonder... what to do with potencially offensive usernames?
That is correct, mods *do* handle usernames.

Not sure about the parental control activation/deactivation system. Your kids should be able to log in at their discretion. There should be a *separate* password for parental controls so the kids can study and play chess without you having to be around.

Otherwise, great idea, fully support it. A lot of MMOs have grown huge this way. I still remember my nervousness at asking my dad if I can play RuneScape! Lichess would benefit a lot from doing this, and I'm very surprised no other chess sites have filters for communication.

As an interim solution, you can block off the forum and message elements by right clicking on them with an ad blocker. I recommend chrismatic.io/ublock/. This won't block the streams though as the home page is changed dynamically to fit the streams there.
Separate password does make sense... was imaging the parent would be around to log them in, but if everything is locked down, they may as well log on themselves.

...and thanks for the work-around.
Great idea! I'd love to have my lil brother on this website.
What are you afraid of? Them seeing or hearing a bad word?
I see no need to expose an 8 year old to the cruelty or obscenity of others... that will happen eventually :P

But - on a more serious level - there are some adult freaks who befriend kids on sites with far more tragic consequences than them seeing a bad word.
That is true. And some, perhaps like xadrez_pt need to be protected from themselves who openly used the forums and disclaimed his age, location, co-ordinates of his house, etc. He had to be silenced for his own good.
