"is victorious"

why does lichess insist on saying white or black 'is victorious' instead of 'wins'? If I win a game it's a win, not a victory.
Someone should look in the source code. I noob.

Maybe there is construction like

var player + var verb (to be in that particular language) + var Adjective
@Sarg0n "var player + var verb (to be in that particular language) + var Adjective" would lead to awful translations.
"Maybe one day there will be billions of games played every year, and the most pressing issue will be if we should say 'win' or 'victory'." - Thibault 2010 (paraphrased).

Congrats Lichess. We've arrived!
This has to be the most pointless question in the the history of pointless questions. Well done!
He who wins is victorious. Renowned players are often said to have won famous victories. Language allows us to express such things in different ways.
