Crazyhouse Olympiad

My goal, and the goal of many others here is to increase the size of the Crazyhouse Community. Currently, there is a 1+0 CWC going on, and we're almost in the Candidates portion. I want to thank everyone for participating, I'm very happy with the turnout.

I, along with a few other crazyhouse players were thinking about possibly creating a Crazyhouse Olympiad.

In the Chess Olympiad, each team is consisted of 4-5 players, and 4 players play every round representing their country.

In the Crazyhouse Olympiad, each team will be consisted of 5-6 players, and 4 players will play every round.

The time control will be 3+2. Each player will be playing 6 games per week, per matchup. 3 games with White, and 3 games with black.

Since there are 4 players playing per team, it'll be 6x4=24. So, the winning team needs to score at least 12.5/24.

Each matchup should take a week, but that doesn't mean that all teammates will play at the same time. Each player should have at least one spare hour per week to play. This tournament will start in a few months from now, I just want to see who's interested.

The player seeding will be based off highest rating+current rating/2. The person with the highest rating plays on board 1. Person with 2nd highest rating plays on board 2 and so on.

The format will either be Swiss or Round Robin, depending on how many teams participate. After the Swiss/Round Robin section will be completed, there will be a "Final Four" where all teams play against each other. The teams in the top four will be rewarded with a certain amount of $$. This has not been fully established yet.

There will be an A section for teams with an average rating over 2000 and a B section with the average rating of the team lower than 2000. The winning B team will be invited to play in the A section next year.

Please be honest about which country you are from. If there's a lot of strong players in one specific country that is interested in this event, it is possible to have two A teams from the same country.

There will be more information coming out later.

If you're interested please say: "I'm in" and please say the country that you are from. Please be honest about the country that you are from. If we do not have enough players from certain countries, I'll try to lump them together. Hopefully this doesn't occur. You can only play for a country that you're a citizen of.

If there's any questions, or comments, please leave them below.

Thanks,
littleplotkin
I would like to ask if players can choose to play for the country they were born in or for the country they currently live in.
It's not my case but this problem has occurred different times in tournaments of chess and other games.

I'm in, Italy.
@deadban Good question. We can get this resolved in private chat. So, if anyone can go to 2 different countries, please private message me, and we'll sort it out together.

Thanks.
Canada is a big favorite as I can see. Especially if 12teen (Jasugi99) will play.
