an opening variation that computers can't understand

Dunno how they suffer. Considering how concrete it is now human could survive on either side of the game
inb4 OP doesnt post a bunch of games where he backs up his claims with game history.
after 8....Bg4 and 10.Kxe2 computers not only they do lose the game, but also can't analyze it
they analyze first +3 for white, then +2,then 0.00,and finally +1 for black,+2 for black etc
Humans can survive some of the lines because they are forced perpetuals that you can memorize all the way to the end :)

Of course, the computer won't play the Traxler normally, though.

That said, white has forcing lines leading to draws in most e4 main lines that the computer won't avoid unless contempt is maxed out and/or an opening book is being used that was deliberately created to avoid forced draw lines (at the expense of often giving black a bad position, from which it will outplay the human opponent).
This was a very wierd topic. Entertaining too. I use to see positions computers couldn't calculate back in the late 90's early 2k's. There was a puzzle that a comp couldn't work out because the theme was under promotion. I think those days are long gone now. Honestly I don't know much about the abilities of comps because I hate the suckers. I have my doubts that the traxler is that strong. Now.. I do know there are lines that if you stick them on engines you can't trust the eval. Even to this day because the horizon effect is still very prominent in engine analysis. And there are quite a few openings, the version of the slav I play included where the eval jumps up and down. But the line has been so analyzed you know the engine is misreading the position.

I never trust a feller that claims he beat stockfish and that komodo is stronger. Why don't you just forget which is stronger and use them for what they were intended? To analyse a position of interest so you "understand it better".
it is not about trusting in someone or something,it is so simple put on the computer the Traxler
line with 8......Bg4 10.Kxe2 see how it analyze this position and play, the rest are only words
@MeWantCookieMobile No computers are fine in traxler. No human could outplay computr in it. Then again humans cannot outplay computers at all. Situation where humans are relatively better are somethinhg like benko-gambit with long complex endgame. I mean GM's can hold a draw still no win
