why are people so illogical

@PeteyPeteRepeatPete1

i did prove it logically

if you are too illogical to see that then how can you play chess at all

if you need more time then use a longer time control
1/4+0 is a game totally different from chess

premoves put the other person at a big disadvantage
if they are allowed they should use one second and then SHOW the move after the other player had made theirs instead of suddenly surprising them so they dont realise that a premove was made and they waste time trying to find what the move was once they had already wasted time realising that a reply move had been made

premoves are stupid and they suck
only kiddies would need such a gimmick
GMs and titled players are kiddies then.

Also, it can't put the other player at a disadvantage because both players have premoves. lol.
As you said, ultrabullet is an entirely different game than chess. That's why premoves are needed there.

The thing that truly has to change is the highlight on the board. It needs to be more apparent when your opponent moves so you can see when they've made a move in fast time controls.

That would solve the problem of missing the fact that your opponent made a move.

As for it "eliminating the need for a clock," an argument can be made that the clock is the reason the opponent decides to use premoves. Using premoves is a disadvantage against waiting because you don't know what your opponent is going to play. On the other hand, it allows an opponent to blitz out many moves all at once. The clock is the cause.

Logic is not absolute; it supports more than a single argument.
@oldegeezer

remember, the other person could also turn on premoves.

I fact, we are lucky to have premoves on lichess. most tournaments don't allow premoves.
I do believe that ultrabullet is illogical, but blitz and bullet are totally reasonable. They help the mind to think by making the player get used to playing in low time.
Premoves are a necessary part of speed chess. They are not a gimmick if the devs put them in. The premoves also add a level of excitement.

What fun is it if a 30 second bullet game lasts only 30 moves and is in the middle game? The game would be won with no clear advantage to either side.

Perhaps premove isn’t useable in slower chess controls. But in bullet and maybe blitz? A necessity.
@oldegeezer

stop wining. besides, you can't convince the tens of thousands of players that use premoves to stop using premoves.

I am personally a fan of premoves.
@PeteyPeteRepeatPete1

too many GMs are immature and unsocialised schlubs
fischer was the prime example of a great chessplayer who was a terrible person otherwise

and i met fischer twice at tournaments plus having heard what many people around him said about him as well as reading the press he got
@TheLostRaiderDude

nonsense

you can play speed chess without premoves

if you need more time then use a longer time control
1/4+0 is NOT CHESS at all
it is some other video game dexterity exercise
@ZicZhang

doesnt make premoves logical nor right cause you like them

use a longer time control if you cant play the game without needing them

premoves are essentially CHEATING as they let you move in zero time withOUT my seeing your move which puts me at a disadvantage especially at faster time controls
