Endgames

Does anybody actually get common endgames like Philidor or Lucena positions or king and look vs king and queen etc.

I've only ever gotten queen king vs lone king and even then it's rare.

Have you ever used an endgame you learned to win a game because 99 % of my games don't reach a concrete endgame where I needed precision .
I learned between 700 and 800 endgames, mainly in Rey Ardid' and Yuri Averbakh's books. When I see an endgame with little material, I regularly meet concepts learned. The pieces are not placed exactly where they were in the endgames I learned. It's normal. There are often others that must be ignored to see the pattern. It's normal too.

In blitz.. sometimes. In standard chess with 2 hours for 40, 3 games out of 7 in my last tournament went to an ending.
That's a rather strange question to ask. If you, say, end up in a rook endgame with a pawn down, you could aim to bring it up to Philidor's position and then have a draw. The same is true for all other endgame stuff. Theoretical endgame knowledge gives you things to work towards, it is essential.
