I was a bit confused about 12...Qxd5 because it allowed Nepo to force the queen exchange with 13. Qf3. Wouldn't have it been better for Carlsen to take with the knight, leave the queens on the board and create pressure on Nepo's kingside?

Perhaps this game annotation was other than it appeared; it was the only link-through for the 2021 WC; but I have a very hard time understanding how the game could be so disreputably annoted.
I am very surprised by how unprofessional the published annotation is: Throughout, the author calls GM Carlssen 'Magnus', and his opponent 'Nepo'. WTF!?
Get ready for the notion that GM Carlssen has been knighted, so that's Sir GM Carlssen to you!
