Mamedyarov Joins The Leaders In Round 6

In one of the previous threads, I thought I left a note to the effect of Aronian's long-term performance in top-level matches for WCC. I guess I edited that out.

We're 6 of 14 games in, and, Aronian is now second from the bottom of the pack ... exactly (or closely) mirroring Hikaru's cited tweet ... when Aronian is "on" his game, he's awesome. But when he starts a tournament poorly, the tournament usually goes poorly for him (overall, with a few rare exceptions). Why can't he take a Candidates tournament seriously? Why is it all of the silly in-between tournaments he squashes his own top-level competition like they're bugs?

Here I am, a fan of Aronian, suffering and praying for my second pick: Mamedyarov.

You'd think because I'm a strupid (or, sturpid) Amurican that I'd be rooting for the home team: But neither So or Caruana are deserving. (But, Hirkau is deserving ... of remotely winning the Candidates and then getting his arse squished by Carlsen. I know Agon would love Naka's facial expressions contemplating his utter defeat by Carlsen.) We want Entertainment, do we not?

Nobody likes Karjakin. Grischuk is a big baby. And Kramnik is quite possibly too old. (Why aren't Kramnik and Anand touring county fairs, doing pugilist BSDM-Boxing chess matches yet? I'd pay to see that; especially if both Kramnik and Anand got to knock-out Kasparov in the same night on a double-ticket.) And Hou Yifan is far more qualified than that Ding Liren weakling (she'll ring his bell any day of the weak).

Another prayer for Mamedyarov since Aronian can't get his shite together.
@MrCharles
Caruana not deserving of a shot vs Carlsen? Nobody likes Karjakin? Grischuk a big baby? Ding Liren a weakling?

You gotta lay off the kool-aid...
or 6:07 'i think that my position is so good that it is still not so clear' well, the fish says +2.5. Luckily Mamedyarov is a kind man and doesnt just shout 'Oh stop with that nonsense' :-D
Wow, being rated 2784 and leading the tournament isn't deserving, tough crowd.
