Learn to play the Caro-Kann Defense!

Thanks for the video, a lot in there!

Just a note to say that at 1200/1300 level, 90% of the time the response to c6 is Nf3...

So 1. e4, c6 2. Nf3, d5

This wasn't covered in your video, but I guess it's like the Two Knights variation?...
@hampy Good question. After 1. e4 c6 2. Nf3 d5, white doesn't have many good options besides going to the Two Knights.

3. exd5 is an even more innocuous version of the Exchange (Exchange Caro-Kann set-ups with an early Nf3 aren't great for white - black just gets to play an early ...Bg4 with an easy game)

3. e5 Bg4 is another version of the Advanced Caro-Kann which I think is a bit easier on black than the main version

3. Nc3 is the Two Knights

A decent choice. Actually I like the exf6 stuff, especially against Two-Knights. The Nf3 would be better placed on e2 against exf6.

Those who think CK is boring lack the fantasy. Poor guys, you will never know!
