Chess in NYC

Hey all,

I'm a fairly new player. I mostly just play on my phone on my way to work. I usually rip 3 minute blitzes and am now in the 1600-1650 range...i'd love gain another 200 points at least. Any recommended teachers or places in NYC to learn?

I’m in NY, there is a GM on Long Island that teaches, and they have tournaments apparently nearby also, in Nassau county. And you can get coaching online by skype of course.

I got to my current rating with just puzzles and a few books. I guess it’s cheaper than a coach...
