how did I lose this match !!!

I was black and my opponent was white! It was a 3 minutes blitz game! I was timed out with 2 pawns while my opponent had a bishop only! how did I lose this match ! this match supposed to be drawn! can anyone help?
I think that according to Lichess's rules, you lose if you time out and your opponent has sufficient mating material. In OTB tournaments, it's a draw if your opponent has only a king or a king and a minor piece.

Mind sharing the position you were in when you timed out?
as I know it is an international rule that only a king and a bishop means it is a draw! I had a rook with two pawns. white had a bishop and a pawn. since my time was running out so I immediately eliminated white's pawn! then I was pushing my pawns and timed out! I am new to this site so I do not know this site has any different rules for chess.
Consider the FEN 5b1K/6PP/7k/8/8/8/8/8 w - - 0 1, where white has two pawns and black has only a bishop. If white blunders g8=B, then black has mate in one with bg7#. So, it is theoretically possible for the side with only a bishop to mate the side with two pawns if the side with two pawns plays terribly. Due to this technical possibility, if the side with two pawns times out, they will lose since a mate could technically still occur.
FIDE rules state that you lose if there is a way to lose on the board, even making the worst possible moves, including helpmates.

So imagine you use those pawns (or promote them) and purposely go into the wrong corner and use your own pieces to smother your king whilst his king and bishop team up to deliver mate. If that's theoretically possible, then you do lose under FIDE rules.

Note that this differs from USCF rules. I'm not sure whether Lichess actually uses tablebases to check whether a helpmate is possible or just has a a simpler list making "best guesses".
„6.9 Except where one of the Articles: 5.1.a, 5.1.b, 5.2.a, 5.2.b, 5.2.c applies, if a player does not complete the prescribed number of moves in the allotted time, the game is lost by the player. However, the game is drawn, if the position is such that the opponent cannot checkmate the player’s king by any possible series of legal moves.“

The latter is not the case and lichess is following more or less FIDE.
