Rick Wakeman, keyboardist of Yes, called Vivaldi 'the first ever rock soloist' for his improvisations we know of from critical reviews of his time.
I love music questions! :D

Personally, for classical piano, especially the romantic era, I like Chopin and Liszt's pieces the most as they stress the use of techniques and arpeggios that could help the new generation become more technically trained to play harder pieces. They're not only fun to play, but also great to listen to! Listen to Wrong Note by Chopin, it has a nice balance from beginning to end <3 Same with Liebesträume No. 3 by Liszt, touching and great for romantic musicians.

For violin, maybe Vivaldi and Paganini being the two main composers of their generation :)

I don't know about the other instruments, but I these are my picks :D
