3/2 tourney's like the pros

I cannot understand why Lichess tournaments are only 3 and 5 minutes with no increment. The blitz championship is 3/2.....Why not us??? Robert James would not play in a serious tournament without them.

It's too bad bc I like this site. Gonna try chess24 and see if they have them
In OTB you cant premove like you can do online, so you lose time always. So its clear that in OTB there is Increment, but you dont need that online absolutely. Thats why a most peole more like to play 3+0 or 5+0 online, as 3+2 is much slower online than OTB. But of course also thousands of people play 3+2 on lichess, there are a lot of daily tourneys, also with 3+2 time control
@Fritzi_2003 Its just two different games with and without increments. Personally I prefer increments when the game is decided with chess moves rather than fastest finger first. Others prefer +0 both are played on Lichess so all is fine.
@CrowChess yeah of course, as 3+0 is more common, i relate it more to 3+0 but just mentioned 5+0 also as other time control. But everyone his one prefer, as there will be always an opponent in the time control you want on lichess.
@Fritzi_2003 do you think fast time controls online are more popular because players enjoy the faster speed or because they believe they get a fairer game at these time controls?
@CrowChess I guess because you can play faster because of premoves and the fact that the clock automatically swipes it just fatser online than OTB, so you play slower time controls OTB to compensate that.
@MrOppO

The international blitz standard is 3|2, not 3|0 so for tourneys there should be increment. That increment generally increases the quality of games because you generally won't get timed out, especially if you are a premover. The shortest non-increment games I play are 5|0 because that's enough time to take a few big thinks in a game. I don't quite understand why GMs are addicted to 3|0 which really wasn't the coffeehouse standard until around year 2000. In games which either lack increment and/or are just too short the time scrambles make no sense at all which is a shame after a well played game.
