I was playing a game that ended in a draw by repetition, but I noticed that I lost more points than my opponent. Shouldn't be the point loss equal?
The number of points gained/lost is related to your rating deviation. If you haven't played much in that time control, or haven't played in a long time, you gain/lose more points per game.
If your are rated the same yes.
Here is how it works from your perspective, (if your rating is y and your opponent's is o)
Win less points and lose more points (y>o),
Roughly equal win-loss or almost no change for draws (y=o),
Lose less points and win more points (o>y)
When person a is higher rated than person b, person a is considered to be more likely to win. Therefore, it is fair that b should be penalized less and rewarded more for their results. This also applies to draws as well, as if a weaker player manages to hold a stronger opponent to a draw, they manage to not lose, which is the expected result, (and therefore the stronger player fails to produce the expected result and therefore should be penalized)

#2 Well said. And also, if you have a draw by repetition, you could be up or down at points.
