tips?

start with casuals games to practice and then go play rated games when you are ready
@agg144. Playing causal games does not prepare you for rated ones very well. Many people who play casual don't really care if they win or lose and make really really stupid sacrifices for fun which someone playing rated wouldn't do. or they might even do other things while playing. Play rated or not at all.
@shadow1414 guoguo2008 want practice. when you practice you dont want to lose rating. when i play casual games me there isnt any stupid sacrifieces so ill have to disagree with you
Dear @guoguo2008 , from what I know at Blitz ( 5+0 ) you need to :
- make pre-moves
- do Puzzle Storm
- try to know what your opponent move will be ( to make the pre-moves )

What is correct is that " Blitz chess kills your ideas " ;-)

Good luck.
All the best!
A nice day!
@agg144. You have to suffer to improve. If you don't play rated then you are essentially playing with inherently worse opponents. Also just because you don't make stupid sacs for fun it does not mean that no one does. But thanks for disagreeing respectfully.
I think that playing your own unique opening system might be helpful since a lot of people are playing book lines, so try to setup a trap or get to a funky position. I'm not even close to master level but this was a tip I got, those little tips u pickup after getting destroyed, u know the ones.
