It's not a bug, white can still deliver checkmate
Online chess can't do the "insufficient chances" rule. Most tournament directors can't even get it right. :p

White can't mate black king, with lonely bishop. Still, checkmate is possible only if I block my king with pawn in a white corner. I thought it was draw, minimum.

He can still checkmate you. You'd have to mess up but it's still possible

Infinite chess monkey theorem: if an infinite number of chess playing monkeys move randomly some of them will be checkmated.
