SILMAN - How to reasses your chess, 4th. EDITION (Book)

Silman is for beginners. He should write novels. Don’t think that you learn much from his texts as an advanced player. He‘s right with his hindsight bias but that won’t help you much next time.

I prefer other authors and most of all, praxis > theory. Expose yourself to chess content and not to tons of words.

I have 3 Silman books. My only books. Just started to try reading books instead of videos.
I have been reading around 25-50 pages on each of the How to R. 4 th edition and The Amateur`s Mind.
Actually Silman recomends to read around 45 pages or so of the How to R. and then stop, and then read all of the Amateur`s mind. Then pick up the How to R. and read the rest. But 25 pages into The Amateur`s Mind I really have to say I prefer it more. It`s meant for 1000-1700 Level. The 4th is for 1200-1800. I love that part I have come to now. When himself tells about how he sees the Board, his plans etc. And then a 1000 rated and a 1600 rated will do the same.
The endgame book is also nice. The first pages will be far too easy, but read them anyway.
