Where's good sportsmanship?

Guys, I feel like this is lower-leveled because 2000 and up chess guys are really serious
If they do this, block them and report

Chezz, i see you are new to lichess. There is this thing called public shaming, which means shaming other people. Try to use: I played against some person, and don't show game unless they ask. This is kinda like respect. I made these mistakes when i first came here too
Ps, there is a kid mode feature that closes the chat and stops the messaging (i think)
@Chezz07, what I meant is I have a mate-in-one position. They wait until they have 0.1 seconds and then they move, so I mate them and it counts as a checkmate.
@AquilaTheEagle ah yes, I didn't intend to shame him but just brought this up because I wanted to know how things are around here and used that game as evidence to support my point. I won't do that again, I'm sorry. As for no chat mode, I don't mind that. Being communicative is fun and making some potential new chess friends could be nice, especially for sparing with someone of similar skill level and thus improving.
@Dollyfroggy the system is smart enough to detect it, count it as abuse and take action automatically. Depending on how many times they've done it they might get a warning or a timeout. I think if they get enough timeouts they get shadow banned but I'm not sure about that one.

I like people that rage quit (different to what you described) unless it's the first time they've raged quit I only have to wait 12 seconds.

I don't think there's any benefit in reporting people for wasting time. The system takes care of them automatically.

There is a downside to submitting too many reports. They shadow ban your reports. They don't tell you you're submitting too many reports, they just silently delete them automatically without any human reading them.
#24 Important correction: "too many FALSE reports" - this is considered report abuse and every site has some form of punishment for it. There is no problem submitting many reports as long they are legitimate.
@Chezz07 If it's reportable then report it. Don't come on to the forum naming names. Most people do this as a sort of revenge, and it's not cool. I understand that you're new but that's all the more reason to keep your head down until you figure out how things work.
@h2b2, it detects if they time the clock out, but not if they move once after 5 minutes... in a 5 minute game. So reporting that time was necessary.

I think that you should only get 2 chances for timing someone out, since it's not really possible to accidentally do that, but you can accidentally leave a game (I've had to shut down my computer, but I made it back to the game in time).
@Dollyfroggy it does detect what you describe. If it's a 5 minute game and you blunder with 4 minutes remaining on the clock, let the clock run for 3:59 seconds and then move with 1 second remaining, it detects that as wasting time and either warns or times you out.
