any suicide survivors here?

Stephenson, don't be such a dick. It's weak and cowardly to ridicule someone from the safety of your internet anonymity.
Its all fun and games until it happens to you or somebody you know. ** Just knowing about it ** and **experiencing it in real life** are two different things.

I think the OP's question was "what has helped you so far to say positive with life? please share"

If you don't want to answer, then don't answer. So please don't mock them.
I attempted when I was 18. I still suffer a lot with depression. I have a daughter now so I can't just live for myself.
it's a self-fueling viscous cycle. It's easy to become bitter . Whats helped me is distractions either work, play, play chess , or invest time in something new. When distractions aren't enough a psychologist usually does the trick in a month or two. Really playing chess has helped me gain incredible patience, but sometimes that idea crops up "i just want the pain to go away" everyday getting louder and louder, trying to quiet that voice is a lot of work. My mother always told me that god will never hand you more than you can deal, so if your handed it you can deal with it. Some more tragic than others and some like myself deal with it for a lifetime.
Jordan Peterson (www.youtube.com/user/JordanPetersonVideos/videos) and his family have dealt with severe depression, in the case of himself and his daughter dietary change (to a carnivore diet) had extremely positive effects on their physical and mental health. Strange as it may sound, food allergies might play a major role in depression, at least in some cases.

Peterson also has tools for understanding ones personality www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-Eb76X3upk and figuring out ones past and future potential, which has lead to very positive life outcomes (much lower dropout rates) for university students and others.
I think perhaps the individual who started this post doesn't fully understand what suicide is. Might I point out, one cannot SURVIVE suicide. If you succeed in committing suicide, you cannot survive it. I think, PERHAPS, what the author of this thread MEANT to say is something along the lines of, "Are there any survivors of FAILURE out there!"

If you had read the whole thread you would know that this has already been pointed out. Try contributing something useful next time.
