how could i improve my position?

if anyone knows what to do in this position, i would be grateful if you tell me.
let the bishop doing his work is not wise. 17. ... e4 stop the mate.
Well I will try ^^

First of all you have one more knigth and 3 more pawns. that means that every trade is in you favor. If you exchange everything you will win in the endgame.

You have 3 pieces developed plus castled in comparison with your oponent with only 2 pieces developed and a very weak King. In term of lead development you are far ahead.

So based on that first analysis you have 2 plans: exchange everything and win or try to strike and checkmate the king.

If I want to strike and kill him I try to find forced moved and so on ... It is was you played. bh3+ K takes, K takes and even her the queen can take your K. So in the end it doesn't seem to work.

the king is weak but you cannot have some easy check that win a piece easily.

In the end at looking it very quickly I can't find a killing position forced to win.

So you just need to develop your pieces properly and then in 5 move look for another tactic.

If you had 5 moves given you would develop your bishop, bring back your other rook and then push your pawns.

his king will not escape.

Ok so now how to do it.

the very simple way is by 15 e4. Blocking nasty threat, taking some space and preparing with tempo ^^ to lanch a pawn storm.

Let's say 16 Be2 preparing rook d1

16 F5 for black is a bit to much because after rook 17 d1 you will lose a pawn when your queen moves

So 16 Be6 developing and taking care of your pawn.

Your plan now is just to bring back the rook and going for F4 F5 and E3 !!!

even from the start of your position you have a clear dominant position. you just had to prepare it and destroy your opponent in morphy style (bring all your pieces in the action)

So after 16 Be6 he can play 17 Rd1 then Qxc3

18 what to do ? IDK ^^ Completely lost

You can go for f4 f5 and e3 but even eating all pawns in the queen side and pushing your a pawn is winning ^^

I hope that I helped you

15...e4 and you are completely winning
18...g6 and you are still winning

This was 20+2 time control and at the end both of you had 18 useless minutes left on your clocks. Just thinking a while was enough to find 18...g6.
As you pick out a few possible moves to try in the above game, the biggest weights on the position are: 1. Material is not even and 2. Your king has some pieces attacking it (with a potential third attacker in the rook at h1 and fourth in the pawn at h2 or maybe the knight at g1).

Knowing the above ^ the theme you are probably searching for is a way to remove the attacking pieces by either trading them or forcing them away with your pawns. Another way to think about it is raw numbers. ***He has 2-4 attackers. You either need 1-3 defenders, or closed lines of attack that your opponent can not use.*** A number of moves on move ...15 do this --> 15 ...Ne7 (to make use of the f5 square). 15... e4 and 15...f5 to name 3.

What do you do??! Consolidate your position and don't lose for a few moves while you finish your development --> Then go get his king and put it in the box.
15... e4 This because it threatens the bishop, shuts down the mate threat and makes the e5 square open for a knight while removing the c2 defender.

16. Be2 is the expected response (Rd1 is just a 1 move threat)

16... Qc3 keeping the initiative and targeting that rook.

17. Rd1 The expected response (Re1 is an alternative, but at least this move targets a pawn.)

17... Qxc2 wins a pawn

18. Rxd5 wins a pawn back

18... Qxa2 winning another pawn

19. h4 harassing the knight trying to fight back

19... Ne6 defending the knight

From here trade your e pawn for the b pawn. It's up a piece and four pawns really just a matter of technique easy to win this kind of stuff.

This is just one way of proceeding, there are many many winning lines from the position you started your question at.
Instantly, I went for Nb4...then I checked: apparently its only the 4th(!) best move according to SF but it's so obvious and still a -9 score. I'd have played it without thinking.
