How to create a game that excludes people with temp 1500? rating?

Is it possible to create a game that accepts rating in a range of lets say 1300 - 1800 but not accepts people with the temporary rating of 1500?.

In my brief experience it can be a hit and miss to play with people that has not yet received a real rating. Some a very good and some are cheaters that just created a new alias to be able to fool people.
If lichess implemented such a feature new players would never get a game.
lol... you are probably right. But they can play vs each other until their strength is valid or vs those opponents that accepts the uncertainty ;o)
Thank you for your suggestion, Toadofsky. However I play mostly correspondence chess and so far there are unfortunately no tournaments in sight here on Lichess, as far as I know?
Ive kind of wondered this myself.

Why can brand new accounts play in non sponsored tournaments?

Makes it so much easier to be boosted from 1500? to 2k+ on a
brand new account; rather than having to get the 10/15 games required to play in a sponsored tourny.

If you think they SHOULD be able to play in them; then please explain why on earth they woudlnt be able to play in sponsored tournies?

The same reasons would apply and makes no sense how it would be OK for one and NOT OK for another.
Honestly, I argued strongly against all tournament restrictions (including the U1500 / U1700 events) but, like rating refunds, these were popular ideas repeatedly suggested and there wasn't extensive debate of these ideas (not that every new idea needs to be debated, but anything ratings-related is always a big hairy mess).
