How should I play against the Vienna Gambit Setup as Black?

Your diagram confused tpr, just like it confused me and 90% of people reading this. If you had explained it clearer then we might have been able to understand it properly.

Oh come on, you asked what should I play against the vienna gambit? And put a flawed diagram up when tpr was expecting it to be a real position. And the quote you gave, it’s not silly, @DarkAntart1can said that e6-e5 could lead to the position you gave, but tpr was correcting him. And I think you should be less rude to tpr when he is the one ultimately who is helping you. It’s really stupid to say “you are the better chess player I need help from you” and then proceed to be rude to him. He takes the time to help everybody out on lichess and gives specific advice to people. “and turned into a robot that isn’t really reading what others say anymore” oh please.
@tpr sorry I was so rude to you and thank you for helping me, it was my fault that diagram might have been confusing without an explanation
I suggest using analysis board and opening explorer as it would show you the best moves if you don’t find people’s responses helpful. Everyone has a different preference over what to play against a specific opening so its rather hard to write down ‘a’ ‘best response’ also in a chess game your opponent would adapt to whatever you play so i think instead of memorising a specific response to ‘Vienna gambit’ you should just follow your instinct when you play then later on learn from your mistakes. It would also improve your self-learning ability...
3...Bc5 and 3...d6 is feasible

Most crucial is 3...exf4 this leads to a King's Gambit where the insertion of 2 Nc3 Nc6 rather benefits black
The sharpest response is 2...Nf6
This has been played in a match for the world championship

Dear @OnlyBetterNoBlitz, there is no reason to apologize if people are not willing to read. You said you simply set that position up to show the White set-up – you wanted to know what moves to insert as Black. I immediately got that, so it's not too confusing.
It's interesting nobody mentioned this up to this point: 1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. f4 and now d5. It's even the main line on f4, so no magic involved finding out about that move (like @Tae7 said, just use the opening explorer; personally I own a repertoire on chessable where this move has been recommended too). I haven't looked deeply into this line, but it seems like you should best know some concrete lines, so a study would make sense. Maybe there are short-cuts, but if there is an advantage to get, why not go for it by learning a few lines on this one?
The Nf6 d5 line is a little bit sharp. I prefer a more quite game as black.

Yes I studied all openings I need as white and got tired at black, I just wanted some short input I'll guess I'll just try it out some variantions at the next games and read a little bit about the kings gambit.
´#26 the main line seems like a good option with d5 counterattacking the center etc...
#27 same but i think playing too solidly as black against Vienna gambit doesn’t gain an advantage at all.Its good to experiment sometimes lol.
