GM suspended for Cheating Accusations

Yes, yes; chess is a male dominated sport and the chauvinist pigs can't fathom a female, let alone a little girl, being good at their sport.

That might be true; but I don't find it very likely.
I would imagine 'normal' people would realize that chess skill comes from the mind and not the gender of the player.

I'd say they oughta keep a close eye on this player and her following tournaments; to see if there is any merit to the accusations.

Plenty of 'unquestionable' super high ranked players have been caught using cheating devices.
You never know what someone is doing other than yourself.
Faith in others legitimacy is exactly why some people go so long without being caught. Oh he/she is for sure legit; no reason to question it.

Its not until someone has incontrovertible proof that others actually listen.

Look at the problems twin galaxies has due to this exact mindset.
"This exact mindset" (presumption of innocence, burden of proof) is one of the cornerstones of modern rule of law, in contrast to despotism. Just saying.

I mean, of course he shouldn't just ignore his suspicions. But there are ways to handle the situation that don't involve flinging crap at a child in public, without hard proof to boot.
Have read that story and it's amazing how old GM acted like emotional child... and GMs supposed to be smart people omg... Basically guy doesn't have a proof and now starts to explain himself where his reaction came from displaying his daughters messages to mom, his analysis etc... Immature. The whole thing had to be solved on spot. You make a tornado there so next round doesn't start until it is clear wtf is going on. Now that GM can sit in corner and cry.
On the other hand didn't find any note from Fide disciplinary actions on organizers since they started searching players after 4 rounds... lol, that is suppose to be serious tournament :)
#13 Right, even supposing he's correct (I assume he is) there are procedures to follow so FIDE doesn't lose sponsorship.
Ivanov was clear cut. It's hard to blame people for speaking out when nothing is done. But, of course they should go through the proper channels.
That's why I got mixed up. Dlugy wanted Ivanov to take off his shoes. I knew he accused someone of cheating.
I was at a conference last summer where, let's call him an "online chess IM executive" stated that cheating online was "epidemic". I give Lichess credit: every time I play a near-perfect game I fear accusations but have never been accused. Better a thousand guilty go free than one innocent wrongly convicted. I am at youth tournaments regularly where what goes on in the bathrooms is blatant...and I do absolutely nothing. I feel it is the nature of the really good chess player to be out of control fighting for an edge...on-line or in person. It will never be stopped...I see the day when someone will implant a device...probably much sooner than we guess.
