Magnus Carlsen ( DannyTheDonkey) win lichess titled arena !!!

na i think magnus just came here to show that he is still alive!
$500 in 2h haha why not? Easy money for a player like Carlsen XD
Great job by the donkey.

I was rooting for "local" guys who play here regularly.

@penguingim1 did really well! The field was very hard and 3rd place, nice! Congrats!

I was hoping to see @toivok in the top 10, not this time, but he did beat the donkey!
@mdinnerspace :
Yes, mine donations. And I love it. Now I will donate even more to make such tournaments possible in the future too.

But not your donations. Because you don't donate anything.
That's okay, too. But what happens with the donations should not be your theme so much.
MC donated the cash prize back to lichess. So no your money isn't going to a multi millionaire. The point of the tournament wasn't to give donations to the richest players in the world. If you weren't so full of hate you would see this.
Wow that's really nice of Magnus, the gesture will sure help keep lichess motivated in doing this!
Full of hate? Why do you say this? It is a concern. I was planning on, now being able to afford a monthly contribution, of doing so.
Great that MC donated the $ back. Nothing about this was stated.

It appeared these tournaments of cash prizes suddenly appeared. I was under the the impression donations went solely towards improving the site. Paying "professionals" from donations is a legitimate question, as asked by the OP in another thread that was just closed.

Very sorry you only see "hate". That is a strong word. I happen to not agree with paying amateurs $ in tournaments. Had questions regarding who qualifies as a "professional". This is a legitimate question, one that has not been made clear.
I also think that for transparency, a policy of openness and honesty that lichess pursues, that on the home page for contributions, it is so stated that a portion of each donation goes towards prize monies. Where is the "hate" in this concern?
