Charles Darwin ..an assessment of chess players.

The next time some bozo attempts to use your (lower than his) chess rating to show that he is obviously more intelligent than you are,due to his higher rating, feel free to use this....

"People who can multiply large numbers in their head must have this high faculty, yet (are) not clever people...the great calculators.......are people of very limited intellects, and in the same way (so) are chess players...the son of a fruiterer in Bond St. was so great a fool that his father only left him a guinea a week, yet he(the son) was (an) inimitable chess player."
"So you’ve learned you’ve got a “pitifully” low IQ. How worried should you be?
IQ is real, it’s important, and it’s also unreliable on the individual level.

The chart perfectly demonstrates how IQ is both statistically reliable and individually unreliable. On average, intellectually demanding occupations like college professors have higher IQs than less demanding occupations like janitors. But individual janitors are sometimes higher-IQ than individual college professors. And almost every profession draws from a wide range of IQs. The average professor is pretty smart — but a nontrivial number have below-average IQs. Like Kasparov, they probably have some areas where their natural talent greatly exceeds what their IQ would predict — and like Kasparov, they probably supplemented that by working really hard." —Scott Alexander

Regardless, in a debate, the validity of arguments should be based on their own merit, not on who said it.

Actually..some fishes can indeed climb trees.
@bunyip I'd rather not sound like a dork. I just let them know that I'm better than them in real life and am more successful than they will ever be
