My Studies

Hey!

I decided instead of making a forum thread for each of my studies, I will make it in to a one forum thread with all my studies.

-Endgame Studies

Endgame Study | King & Queen vs King
(lichess.org/study/nG29WYWS)

Endgame Study | King & Rook vs King
(lichess.org/study/5VVpHFP2)

Enjoy! :)

Leave a like to support me and my studies! :)

If you have any suggestions or find anything wrong with my studies, please tell me! :)
hi Nemplayer, good work! I only looked at the first method in the K+QvK and I think it would be worth mentioning that after Qg5, Kh8 that the one thing to definitely avoid is Qg6 with stalemate. I imagine this would be easy to do, especially in fast time controls...
It's shown in Mistake 3, but I will also say not to do it in that example. Thanks. :)
What is the advantage of the studies as compared to the table bases available here at lichess? The table bases show the most efficient way to play all positions of 6 pieces or less.
IMHO studies are useful if they contain 7 pieces or more.
They only tell you the basic information on how to checkmate, like: "To checkmate with a queen you need to work together with the king and the opposing king needs to be in the corner"or something like that, while I try to give as much explanation on each move and some mistakes that come with it. I also try to tell about some simple details.
I think this endgame does not really need a study however something like BN vs k is hard to understand when only looking at the tablebase. There the W manover (which isn't even the fastest but by far the simplest way to win) is worth being explained.
Something like R+5P vs. R+4P merits a study.
