Can anyone with knowledge of this line analyse my game and tell me where I went wrong. I was surprised that I was better when I resigned but Im not playing it right
Your 13 b4 is not he way to punish his 12...Bc6. Further in the game the pawn at b4 contributes nothing at all. Right was the centralisation 14 Nd4.
15 Ng5 is unjustified. Better the central 15 Nd4!
16 Qh5 looks pretty, but knight and queen will soon be kicked back. Better to admit the mistake 15 Ng5 and humbly retreat 15 Nf3.
16 Bxg6 just loses a piece for no apparent compensation.
At the end, after his mistake 19...Qd7? you are better indeed. With Qf6 and e6 you suddenly get the attack you were hoping for.
