CAPTCHA

This forum uses mate-in-one as captchas. Isn't that the kind of turing test where a computer easily can beat a human ;)?
I think what OP means is that a computer could easily be programmed to break this captha. For those who want to wreak havoc on the lichess forum, chess.com mods for instance. ^^
caphtchas are sort of mini turing tests. A turing test is "a test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human."

Finding mate in ones is an example of a bad turing test, as compturs are in fact better at tactics than humans.
There was a grandmaster in a blitz game who missed a mate in one. True story.
I agree with RAMPKORV. What we have here is not actually CAPTCHAs. When I was new to chess I had trouble solving it sometimes so it was just a nuisance for me whereas it has absolutely no effect on stopping actual bots. When I first joined the forum I thought it was kind of funny but now it's just annoying and useless.
