You said after that you are not talking about # in 1's
Well for # in 2s alone
All these start a mate in 2.

>there is no analysis for this, so someone used this GPU based puzzle miner on it.
Very mysterious statement to me. Can you explain a bit more? I take that to mean that Lichess gets its puzzles from when people pressed the "request computer analysis" in the analysis board. But who would have done a GPU based puzzle miner on it , and how , and then how did that get into the lichess db of captchas?
if its not in the server cloud, puzzle mustve been mined differently.

when SF14 was introduced they wanted to freshen up the puzzle DB with the new version, if you do this with CPU for ~2 Million puzzles and let it run to depth 30 - 50 it will take forever, even if you share your efforts. so they used GPUs for it.

im not a geek so if your interested why GPUs can calculate faster just google for some of the many pages that explain why u use GPUs for cryptocurrency farming, its the same thing. personally i dont have any idea why the server is reliant on (alot of) CPUs and why a GPU cant do the same trick when its so great at computing i would just dangerously guesstimate that CPUs can handle alot of different processes simultaneously and bring them in order and GPUs can get to a crazy amount of computing power / depth if you give them a low number of tasks to do, so maybe different specialisations. but there could be way easier explanations like GPUs would require too complicated/expensive cooling systems. as i said im clueless.
@Rookitiki
Thanks for that explanation. That's interesting and helpful about the GPU's advantages. I always thought people used GPU's for different things just to have less load on the CPU.

But what I'm still curious about is this part of your first statement
>IF IT'S NOT IN THE SERVER CLOUD, puzzle mustve been mined differently.

Is it the case that every time someone clicks on "request analysis" that that game is mined to see if a puzzle can be taken from it?
Is this what "server cloud" consists of? Puzzles that were taken from games that were analyzed after the puzzle overhaul?
