what if you lose not because of tactical blunder but because of passive postion

its like even if i start blunder checking tacitcal moves every time i would still be forced in a terrible position where my opponent forces me to have no option but to make my pieces look like very passive, what am i doing wrong?
@justdino69 On every move, first check for checks, captures, and threats by you and the opponent. Then, ask yourself: "Which piece of mine is the most passive? How can I get it in better shape?"
"Tactics flow from a superior position" - Bobby Fischer
All blunder-checking does is keep you from making egregious errors. You still have to come up with a plan. :)
