Game against 2400+ (otb) at our large congress

Around Easter there‘s a large annual chess congress which has a tradition way back to the „Weimarer Republik“, say 1921. So it‘s the 88th congress this year.

I had some decent results in the well-stud Blitz an Rapid (8th and 4th) in large bulks. Alas, my main tournament (Master-A) doesn’t run well. Three draws, two losses.

Today I lost against the top-seed title-holder, that‘s the way things have gone. Nevertheless I‘m gonna share, I was Black.

I find it ok. I went through it with the online lichess engine and the only thing I found was the Qe6 and Re8 idea instead of 28. ... Rc8, because aparently white wins the b7 pawn after exchanging and going for 33. Be3 which would imitate the way the game went. And the f6 idea which isn't exactly intuitive but you get two squares for the king and avoid all the mating ideas, instead of 34. .... Qe6, if you were able to find Qc6 as a follower which is quite hard the f6 move seems to prevent any b4, Bc5. Apart of those two moments the rest of the game is a matter of taste. Thanks for showing I think it's a nice game. A couple of years more and probably you'll get him.
As I mentioned before I had many good tournaments but this one doesn’t work out well. 4 draws, 2 losses. Three rounds to go.

I can show some further games, this was round 1. Like old Tal game against Larsen, but White improved. Sarg0n Black.

With 3 pieces per side left, you could try to fish some mistakes from you oponent if he's U2000-U2100. By the rest a very neat game. Maybe your oponents have come to know your repertoire very well and you should try to mix things up slightly.
#5 is 22 moves of theory and 7 own moves. You can hardly expect to break an even position in just 7 moves. Just grind like Carlsen does, or otherwise chose a less theoretical line forcing the opponent to think on his own.
#7 is an uneventful game: trades, trades, equal endgame, draw.
#1 is an instructive game. The white bishop is so much stronger than its poor black colleague, though theoretically black has the good bishop not on the color of his pawns and white has the bad bishop on the color of his pawns.
