Takebacks

@MrCharles

Okay. I'd like to make it clear - I am not "playing dumb". I simply did not know the proper etiquette, as I do not think I have encountered this situation before or chose to play on or whatever. Additionally, when I came to the forum, I was not seeking sympathy or complaining - I was truly asking for feedback.
Did you get a warning when the game finished? Something about a temporary ban? I have takebacks turned off for this very reason. I don't believe you meant to go to b7. I think you missed the knight was covering the c7 square and blundered. Your opponent didn't accept your takeback so you threw your toys out the pram and decided to get back at your opponent the only way you could - by idling for 3 minutes.

You spent 8.6 seconds on that move. Completely missing the obvious win Qxe6. I think your behaviour was completely unacceptable and deliberate.
Honestly guys, what I said should have ended this discussion! You're stretching this out far past what it should have ended at! I agree with #17 and it's a suggestion for @thibault. But we should quit talking about this and adding stupid comments to the end that we all could go without. I don't think Area was trying to harm anyone. As he said, he didn't know what to do. He was simply waiting for a response. I think he could have done better and accepted it as a decline, but what #23 said is very rude- and not at all the kind of helpful comment i would expect from people.
And he's allowed to ask for takebacks! I understand that @NatalieHope didn't respond. That's not her fault. But why would thibault allow takebacks? And if Area didn't get a warning for a temporary ban- then he wasn't doing anything wrong according to the server.
@AREA11 -- You have your feedback, no excuses for poor behavior. There's an old expression about the law: "Lack of knowledge of the law is not an excuse for violating the law." Next time, while you sit there "thinking" about your mistake, just simply resign, realizing you blundered and the game is likely lost. (I still don't believe you.)

@ElijahReese -- The only stretch-marks are those of @AREA11 waiting until 10-months to go to the doctor to complain about randomly unknown weight gain, morning sickness, incontinence, and indigestion. (Stretching things should have ended at 9-months, instead of letting 10 or 11 pass before learning about things taught in early grade-school.)
Who says that you have the say in when he should stop? Are you one of lichess' developing team?
I'm nobody. I have no say in when someone should stop. I also have no say in when someone gets warned (automated) about letting games time-out due to unsportsmanlike conduct. (Nay, I'm not a developer, but, I agree with the developer's decisions, and none of my words negate the obvious. However, should you disagree, you might find yourself on the receiving end of a warning due to your own bad attitude in defending those who should know better; and, again, that warning would have absolutely nothing to do with hearing my words if you decided to complain about your own bad behavior, in public, seeking sympathy. Just saying. Truth sometimes hurts.)
Generally speaking ignore all the irregular stuff when it‘s the other having the move. It‘s his allotted time.

It‘s like having the move and offering draw - well, I have time... in otb the draw offer is committing even he finds the winning move meanwhile (should be no mate in 1 though)
Even more general: your opponent is expected to deliver a move, nothing else except for a draw-offer attached to this move. No chat, no outrageous proposals.
