Tournament Bad Königshofen 2017

Hi guys,
I would like some sugggestions how to prepare for my tournament in bad Königshofen.
there are 7 rounds over 3 days, and there are many 2000 rated players.
i am just rated 1540 fide, and the time control is 2h/40 moves+1h bonus.
any suggestions?
No. Just play.

You can show your games afterwards and then I can give you some suggestions.
@the_loving_boy Good luck with your upcoming tournament! When will it be? How long have you got to prepare?

I'll be attending a longplay tournament starting this Friday, and I decided to train my mental stamina, and to change my playing speed (and calculation speed) to match my tournament games using a 3-minute timer per move (not letting myself move before 3 minutes is up). My tournament is actually the exact same time control yours will be.

@neverbeentimid suggested this website for the 3-minute timer http://www.online-stopwatch.com/interval-timer/ "Something like that would work. Just add an interval for 3 minutes then select restart when done so it starts counting down again after every alert."

I'm excited to hear how your tournament goes - please post your games publicly so I can see them too :)
"look at their games" I would not. Rather look at your own games and your own weaknesses or look at grandmaster games. Focus on your own play, not that of your opponents.
ok lokka t gm gamesö.i mena looking at their games to see their weakness if there a opening which tehey do nto seem to like or somthing like that..
Do not worry about openings and about what your opponents like or not. Just play your own game. It seems you feel intimidated by your opponents even before the tournament. If you force yourself to play differently because of what you presume about your opponents, then you weaken yourself. Just play your own game as good as you can regardless of your opponent.
Ok..if ou say it....so i should not prepare for the torunament or hwat do you mean?
Agreed, if you find some concrete games of your very next opponents then of course it is not bad thing to look in a book or a db in advance and refresh your repertoire. Concrete questions, concrete answers. An iterative way to sharpen your openings and learn the ensuing middlegames.

But this concrete approach is not the same as asking in general: „Help! There‘s a tournament approaching, what to do?“
