Recent increase in engine use?!

Hello,
Recently I have noticed a few cases of high-level cheating, including Aswer's suspected cheating and the 1st place player being banned in the FTWC blitz arena yesterday. I've also been paired with more than my fair share of engine users in the past week:

I wonder if there's actually an increase in cheaters of late, or if it's just me...

It's good that they get marked though no matter who they are. You can't stop people cheating so just take online chess for what it is - a bit of fun.

I never got any type of review or anything when I reported a cheater. I should get a few games worth of points back

My friend, why are the refugees? I'm still convinced of the large number of cheaters on the chess.com Youtube has different videos as a person cheating, and shows that he continues to play on chess.com

I saw a video where for comparison to cheat here in Lichess led to the fact that he was closed directly from the middle of the game into a bullet ))
if you are a paying member at chess.com and are caught cheating (not particularly likely), I've often seen staff give multiple 2nd chances. Abusers are asked to make a public apology, promise not to do it again (haha) and they get to keep their account open, having paid for the username. Non-paying members simply create new accounts by the dozens. My refugee statement is about all the members there becoming dissatisfied with their latest v3 interface and the dozens of adds on every page, the high lag etc. They eventually hear about lichess. I agree cheating there is much more common. They come here thinking it will be just as easy and pay the piper.
