Lichess problematic algorithm for players losing internet connections

I am specifically talking on my recent game with the link bellow, in which my connection was lost for just a second and I was announced to be leaving the game after I reconnected! I was wining the game and because of such corrupt algorithm of Lichess, I not only lost the game, but also received an announcement that I should not leave games without resigning!

I absolutely count this as Lichess is not respectful to the players, and the algorithm of considering the players leaving the games be re-coded to give intelligently some more time to the players unwanted losing their connections to return back to the game. Probably having one minute or more.
One blatantly obvious problem with your proposed solution is that players will be able to gain time by intentionally disconnecting.
Also, I believe that the time allotted for reconnecting is reasonable; it is 45-60 seconds if you disconnect and have the tab open, 10-15 seconds when the tab is closed. (not sure about the exact times tho)
We understand your frustration, but it's very annoying to suddenly lose your opponent during a game and we have to discourage it.

The only thing we can suggest to you is that you try to get a better connection or play longer time-control games that are more forgiving of disconnections.
To @BellerophonC and @bufferunderrun; please note that I understand the philosophy of putting such time restriction; however, what happened to me was losing connection and in less than 5 seconds (in a rapid 15-10 module) I lost the game. This is absolutely a bug here. There has been times before I lost my connection and used the allowed time to return back to the game by my cell phone or tablet. There is something wrong here and all I know is that this algorithm needs deeper attention than just rejecting by solutions like "change your play timing or find a more stable connection!".
@qardis I do not know that user but I just wander why should this topic be down-voted while I have spent time to bring it up here to finally have a better procedure or possibly solve a problem here. At least this topic will remain in the archive of posts here and will be technically available for preparing newer algorithms based in real experiences of users. Down-votes are absolutely discouraging here.
@parsayazdi your opponent is allowed to take the win or declare a raw after a certain time.
In 15+10, probably something like 2 minutes.
@ruzgar9543 thanks but I got disconnected for less than a few seconds. That is why it seems odd to me and brought it up here.
Are you sure it was that short? According to the link you gave the last move where black disconnected has a 30 seconds time.
When you get disconnect from a phone call, does the person on the other end of the phone remain on the line,
Or do they hang-up too? They hang up so you can call back and so that they don't wait on the phone.

It's the same for online chess games.

Nobody wants to wait to see if you will come back.

How often do you think others have resigned just because their opponet had a bad connection.

Could it be possible that players that have bad connection have over inflated ratings becaasue opponent resignes and under inflated ratings because the system permits the opponent to win be default of not staying connected.

FEATURE REQUEST: The ratings of the players that are constantly disconnecting should have Provisional Ratings.
It should remain that way until their internet connections stop disconnecting during games.

@lorb yes it was very short.

@Toscani although I do not see any logical relationship between a phone call hang up and a technical issue in an online chess match; I agree that Lichess needs some new features in this regard (as you proposed one). As users we should think and propose some features to decrease effects of such technical problems in the ratings. One may propose to add a third option for the opponent to choose the game not to be rated instead of the game being drawn or won for him. Other option may be a change in the way the scores are given to each side, probably for only two or three games per day minus scores for the side with disconnection can be neglected, so he can use the website when he has a stable connection. Another suggestion can be making the system more intelligent. I am not an IT or networks expert; however there may be some ways to understand whether the player has disconnected on purpose or he has suffered from unwanted disconnection. This may be possible by having a record of his connections, network speed and connections; disconnections may show up based on bad quality network.
I am not sure about how all these suggestions may work. Absolutely Lichess can find perfect solutions by brain-storming the issue. The only thing I feel is that the issue should not easily be neglected by stopping the game, punishing the user with minus score and ending the game. Scoring, long term behaviour control of the user, and other possible ideas can be summed up to prepare much more perfect environment here.
