cheat app??

on chrome webstore there is cheating app Grandbastard extension that works with lichess and chess.com is this used by how many users here and why legal to sell if cheating is illegal??

cheating is not illegal merely against terms of service. Since no money is at stake it cannot be crime. And I do not thing that is the only one

LOL it's called internet chess killer. If you really wanted to kill internet chess you would create 1000s of bots each with their own account sniping all available seeks so that the only way you could get a game is with a cheating bot.

all those bots would get banned rather quickly. (as does anyone trying to use those cheat programs)

however, if someone did try that, it probably would be considered illegal, because that wouldnt just be cheating at chess, it would be considered a denial of service attack. most people smart enough to have those kinds of skills wouldnt risk legal charges for zero personal gain.

Playing anything above 3 minutes is quite frustrating with so many chess programs cheating.

Doesn't matter how fast the bots get banned if they just create a new account everytime they are banned. You either trust everyone who hasn't played a game (bots and humans) or you trust nobody both suck.

I heard of someone creating an account rating funnelling bot for another website that was used to get people banned for boosting. He used it on people that were rude to him or were using hacks
