you lost to a cheater (but you dont get your points back)

So i lose against this cheater. I lose 13 points. I sit down, analyze his games, create a pretty report. Two days later: "You lost to a cheater. Refund: 2 rating points"

I understand that this has something to do with rating calculation, but you should just give back the full points to the defrauded player , even if that distorts his rating a bit.

When I go to the store and complain about something I bought, I also don't want to hear, "Sorry man, instead of three you only get two dollars back, because the product now costs less".

I wont report such players any more under such circumstances. Im just resigning the game.
Your rating at the time of the refund was higher than when you played the game. That's why you got less than full points back.

Oh wait, actually according to the faq that's only supposed to happen if you're 100+ points higher, which isn't anywhere near being the case. I don't know why you didn't get the full amount of points back.
If your reason for reporting cheaters is to get rating points back, you're reporting them for the wrong reason.
Well, my rating when i played him was 2289. That was not very different when i got the points back. I think it was my current slow rating, 2302. Thats 13 points difference. My rating also was not provisional. I played eleven slow games since that game.

However, i see that my game against him is seemingly not amongst the last thirty games he played. Thats a bit sad, because it was me who reported him.

He played 36 games since then, not all slow chess, but also variants. From these 36 games 13 were aborted.

Just want to note that. Im fine with it.
Oh my, i just see, it was another player who i reported, this player actually did not get tagged. I wasnt aware that the player who actually got tagged cheated (i played dumb crap in that game). Sorry about that (still, i lost 13 points to that player and got refunded 2 points).
